Overall, this is a great vacuum. Our old vacuum had worn out over time, and the wand had gotten weak, so it was time for a new one with a useful wand. This vacuum lives up to what we needed it for. When choosing your next purchase, make sure you look at what features are offered. The swiveling, cord rewind, and wand all make a big difference. We were surprised by the cleaning power of it. We thought our floors were already fairly clean, but this one picked up a ton on its first use. I wish it had a light on the front. I also wonder if an extension is sold for the wand to help taller people. Otherwise, it checks all the boxes. The assembly was straightforward and made with attention to being user-friendly. The hoses are easy to detach and dislodge jams if needed. It's nice to know there are replacement parts as needed as well.

I can't comment on longevity, but I had to review right away to let all of you know - this is SO much easier, and better, to use than a 20-year-old bag vacuum cleaner! Worth every affordable penny! It feels like half the weight, has a LOT more maneuverability, and sucks up SO MUCH MORE than the old one I had. Ewww, I did not know my carpets were that bad! My favorite part is the see through top over the brush roller, so I can see how fast it gets full of my ridiculously long hair. Taking the screws out of the bottom, cleaning my hair off the roller, and putting it back together was a very simple task...a matter of minutes. Of course, now that I have a vacuum that works well, I probably won't have nearly as much hair to vacuum up at one time....And did I mention the retractable cord?? Man, this thing makes it so easy to vacuum, I almost want to vacuum every day....almost...vacuuming is still a chore, heh heh.

By far, this is the best pet hair vacuum I’ve purchased. I bought the best Bissell they sold for pet hair and I returned it. Then I chose this one. I’m amazed how well my carpet looks and now feels to the bottom of my feet. I walk barefoot all over my house everyday of the year. I feel everything in my carpet when it gets dirty. When I’m done vacuuming, my carpet feels so clean again, like brand new. The dust and debris container captures everything. I highly recommend!

We needed a medium size vacuum for use in our condo. This has great suction, easy to clean when the canister is full and maneuverable around tight conditions. It has a reasonable solid feel to it. The on/off pedal sometimes needs to be pushed twice to stay on but I think that's a matter of getting used to it. One of the things I would like changed is the knob to adjust the height is down on the brush head housing. Whenever you want to change it you have to bend over and twist the knob where a previous vacuum we had this adjustment was made from the handle so you could do this without bending up and down. The only other thing that I wish was different is that the brush head continues to spin even when the handle is in the full upright position and you are using the nozzle attachments at the end of the hose. However the attachments are easy to use in the hose is easy to disconnect and reconnect for attachment use.

I had just vacuumed my home with my old vacuum right before getting this one and the amount of dirt/hair that was still picked up by this new vacuum was unbelievable! It was like I never actually vacuumed before using this one, this vacuum has amazing suction and almost self propels with how easy it is to push around! It’s not as loud as my old vacuum either which is great! The swivel and tech features are also life saving! If adulting is about getting excited about a great vacuum then I’m there!

The only thing I can’t speak on for the vacuum is the duration of time it will last since I just got it, but I think this vacuum will last !

2. Black & Decker: The Hybrid Approach

Overview:

Black & Decker, another well-known brand, offers the CrossWave Cordless Max—a hybrid vacuum/mop. While not as maneuverable as canister models, it provides a unique combination of vacuuming and mopping capabilities.

Key Features:

  • Vacuum and Mop Combo: The CrossWave Cordless Max allows you to vacuum and mop simultaneously, making it ideal for quick cleanups.
  • Maneuverability: Although less portable than handheld models, it’s still versatile for everyday use.
  • Pet-Friendly: The CrossWave handles pet messes effectively.

Pros:

  • Vacuum and mop functionality.
  • Decent battery life.
  • Suitable for small spaces and car interiors.

Cons:

  • Not as maneuverable as stick vacuums.
  • Limited mop capacity.

I have used a Dyson and a bissell vacuum to vacuum my hardwood floors and they don’t compare to the cleaning ability of this Black and Decker! The light shows you all the dirt and hair that is covering my floors, it’s light weight, easy to push and the ability to stand up right is amazing. This is a great tool for your everyday cleaning, it’s not great on my area rugs but that is fine I have a fluffy dog and would rather use my heavy duty vacuum on the rugs, I do wish that there were bristles or something to get floor boards better but oh well. The battery life is not too great but I can vacuum my whole house and finish with the last bar left on the battery.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good little vacuum.
Battery powered and you can disconnect the charger after it changes. On hard floors, it picks up things easily and alot better than using a broom. But once it reaches the carpet. The suction power increases like a vacuum. It stands up right on its own. It’s more like a light vacuum case it doesn’t hold that much when it picks thing up. Just your day to day daily light vacuum cleaner. But it does come apart with a small attachable nozzle if you want to use outside to clean your car. Small, convenient., and portable without plugging it in but just to recharge it.

5.0 out of 5 stars 100x more powerful than I expected!
I bought this to pick up a lot of dog hair on my wood floor. It does a pretty good job. I don’t really like it on the rug but I do use it to get under the beds which I’m always surprised at how much dog hair is under my bed. I find it easy to operate and not too heavy. It maneuvers pretty good around chair, legs, etc. On high, which is how I normally use it, I may get 15 minutes. On low, you’ll get a little longer, but this is not a vacuum for a big house where you’re going to be doing a lot of vacuuming. I have a small house with only a little bit of wood flooring, . Another good thing about it is it is very easy to dump the hair and debris out of the canister. I don’t have any trouble with that and the filter is washable. so it’s perfect. I also use it on my outdoor patio. Another good thing about it is it is very easy to dump the hair and debris out of the canister I don’t have any trouble with that and the filter is hand washable. It does stand upright by itself, which is also a good feature. If you’re going to just be using it for a small house to pick up loose dog hair and loose debris, it’s great.

Overall, I LOVE this vacuum and it greatly exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this vacuum for it’s ease of use, lightweight design, and powerful suction.

Our small apartment has hardwood and area rugs on the first floor, and carpeted stairs & floors in the upstairs rooms. I am a woman with very thick hair, prone to shedding, and we have a cat. I am also someone who has chronic pain exacerbated by strenuous cleaning. With my background in mind, here are my opinions on this vacuum after use:

PROS
-Way lighter than a traditional corded vacuum, with a swivel head, which makes it very easy to maneuver and has not caused a flare-up for me so far!
-POWERFUL. I bought this as a way to replace sweeping and to be able to more easily vacuum daily without having to lug out my giant traditional vacuum, and this thing works BETTER than my old vacuum. This is going to be my go-to vacuum from here on out. (Note: I may have gotten a very cheap vacuum, it was the first one I ever bought, so if you have a nice, high-quality corded vacuum, you still may find that is more effective for deep cleaning than this unit.)
-The light is so helpful for my dark hardwood floors, especially in the kitchen.
-When running, the sound is quieter than a traditional vacuum, even at full power, and my cat seems to be way less afraid of this vacuum than my old one. :)
-The body of the vacuum can literally tilt down so far as to be parallel with the floor, which makes it easy to get under tight spaces or furniture.
-The included attachment is super helpful for couch cushions, baseboards, countertop corners, etc. and the included hardware to hang the vacuum on the wall makes for easy storage.
-I love that the vacuum auto-adjusts depending on the surface that you’re vacuuming. On my old vacuum, I would have to reach down and change the dial on the bottom every single time the floor changed, which could definitely cause soreness in my lower back.
-While the charging time isn’t ideal, it does hold about 40 minutes worth of charge on it, and that ends up being more than I need to do my apartment top to bottom, carpets and hardwood.

CONS
-The vacuum is a bit top heavy and can cause arm strain during extended periods of use.
-The vacuum takes quite a while to charge up to full battery, ~5 hours. If you have a large house, or a lot of carpets, you may want to break up your cleaning by room so your vacuum has time to charge in between.
-The trash canister on the unit fills up pretty quickly. But, it’s easy to empty, and the filter is washable.

Conclusion: Which One Wins?

Both Bissell and Black & Decker offer compelling options for cordless vacuum cleaners. If you prioritize affordability and solid performance, the Bissell PowerForce Helix is an excellent choice. However, if you want a hybrid vacuum/mop solution, the Black & Decker CrossWave Cordless Max is worth considering.

Remember that individual preferences play a significant role. Consider your cleaning needs, budget, and space constraints when making your decision. Whichever brand you choose, rest assured that cordless technology continues to improve, making household chores more manageable in 2024.
